The devastating effects of our overly polluted existence cannot be ignored, and waiting for governments to take actions has proved to be a long wait indeed. After most of us pull in the driveway and turn off our gasoline combustion engines, we go into the house and turn on the lights, that are more often than not powered with electricity from coal. In West Virginia in the United States entire mountains are blown apart and valleys filled in to extract coal. The hills of West Virginia and its biologically diverse forests are being turned into bleak rubble for what is touted by energy companies as "cheap electricity."
